The aim of the project is to strengthen the civic consciousness of the Latgale region community and the NGOs representing them.

Within the project, educational, informative and solidarity promoting activities will be implemented which will increase the capacity and knowledge of vulnerable groups to strengthen democracy. Special attention will be paid to the NGOs outside regional centres in rural areas, as well as to organizations representing non-Latvian interests. The project will implement two campaigns. One of them will pay attention to the contribution of the most socially active people of Livani municipality, their contribution and will be an incentive for the others to actively participate and carry out civic activities. The second campaign will inform society about the achievements of the association "Balta maja" during 25 years of operation, promote the recognition of the organization and promote involvement of active citizens in NGOs.

As a result of the project implementation, the recognition of Latgale region NGOs outside the regional centers will be strengthened, segregation between them will be reduced, the involvement of  minority NGOs in the joint Latvian family of NGOs will be promoted, as well as the proportion of the population who engage in civic activities and believe in their personal ability to influence decision-making processes.
