On August 12, 2020 nine members of the project selection committees joined the implementation team of the ACF. The ACF will have three project selection committees – for Action projects, Capacity projects, Strategic and Campaign projects. Read more

On 29 July 2020, the first open call for Strategic Projects of the Active Citizens Fund (AIF) was completed with a total of 93* project applications - 75 in the programme “Democracy Culture” and 18 in the programme “Human Rights”. Read more

From June 19, 2020 onwards civil society organizations in Latvia can submit project proposals for the Action project call announced by the Active Citizen Fund (ACF) to implement urgent and actual advocacy and civic activities, especially in the situations of crisis. The maximum duration of project is 12 months, and one project can receive a grant up to 10 000 EUR. Read more

Since May 29, 2020 all civil society organizations in Latvia can submit project proposals for the first Strategic project call announced by the Active Citizen Fund. The deadline for submission is July 29, 2020 (2 p.m). Civil society organizations are invited to submit long-term projects in the area of democracy culture and human rights. Any active organization working in the area and having a long-term vision how to enhance democracy culture and human rights is entitled to participate in this call. Read more

Almost 200 million euros allocated for strengthening civil society. Such support from the EEA/Norway Financial Mechanisms demonstrates the importance of civil society in the processes of democracy, human rights and social cohesion throughout Europe. It's being implemented by 13 funds in European countries within the framework of the Active Citizens Fund (ACF). One of these is the Latvian Active Citizens Fund, which joined the ACF family 3 months ago. Read more
